Wilkes University invites applicants for a Computer Systems/Public Services Librarian in the Farley Library, a progressive and active supporter of student learning which has undergone two recent renovations within a four stage renovation plan.

The successful candidate is responsible for the planning, management, and evaluation of the Integrated Library System. Secondary responsibilities include staffing the reference desk, participating in liaison duties, library instruction and library planning. A Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited institution is required. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with Integrated Library Systems specifically that of Innovated Interfaces, Inc., Millennium. Experience working at a reference desk and teaching Information Literacy; ability to work collaboratively with many colleagues both internally and externally and experience with or knowledge of social media outreach strategies and online learning environments such as LibGuides are needed. In addition, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are essential as is being self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. A commitment to using new and emerging technology to advance work goals and to enhance and ensure a high level of user satisfaction and solid organizational skills with a focus on responsiveness are crucial. Enthusiasm and flexibility for working in an innovative, evolving environment is a must. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
