Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Manager, Business/Competitive Intelligence and Market Research. The Manager will manage the business intelligence function and conduct primary market research projects for Diabetes therapy, with an emphasis on business intelligence related activities.

The Manager, Business Intelligence and Market Research for Diabetes will manage the business intelligence function and conduct primary market research projects for Diabetes therapy, with an emphasis on business intelligence related activities. Specifically, the he/she will manage all aspects of business intelligence processes in order to support key business partners needs for information, intelligence and analysis. Investigate and deliver key information/intelligence needs; to understand and apply superior knowledge of the competitive and pharmaceutical business environment, while supporting strategic directions of the business. This individual is responsible for collecting, analyzing and proactively disseminating timely knowledge about the competitive environment and relevant business issues for Diabetes and other areas of Internal Medicine as assigned. He/she conducts all information gathering activities using ethical and legal business practices under the J&J Business Intelligence and Trade Secret Policy using J&J Business Intelligence tools and techniques. This person will manage vendor contracts, and information budgets to support their assigned therapeutic area and recommends tools and other resources that would improve the business intelligence infrastructure for Internal Medicine and across North America Pharmaceuticals. Individual will collaborate on projects with others in Internal Medicine Business Intelligence, Analytics and other critical functions.

The Manager, Business Intelligence and Market Research for Diabetes will conduct Market Research projects in support of the Diabetes therapy group. Specifically, he/she will be responsible for managing qualitative and quantitative research projects, inclusive of vendor selection, study design, analyses and assessment of study findings on business impact. In addition, the Manager, Business Intelligence and Market Research for Diabetes will collaborate with BA team members to provide input into primary market research studies e.g., forecasting studies, messaging projects, etc. He/She will also help to lead and/or co-ordinate scenario-type simulations, as well as participate in insight generation.

Qualifications

A BS/BA in business, marketing, statistics, mathematics, or related field is required. MBA or MS is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of Business Intelligence or similar experience is required. Some experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is required. PharmD, Master of Library Science or equivalent pharmaceutical experience is preferred. Experience with marketing/sales support is preferred. Demonstrated ability with searching secondary methodologies (e.g. Lexis-Nexis, Investor Research, and Internet) and primary sources (e.g. medical meetings or interviewing) is required. Outstanding communication (verbal, written, presentations) and ability to work independently as well as in small cross-functional teams is required. Must have excellent problem solving skills with the ability to understanding clinical trials and Marketing is required. Must also be able to working with ambiguity, self-directed with the ability to shift gears at a moment’s notice is also required. Excellent proven personal leadership, collaboration, communication and analytical skills are required. The ability to support cross-functional teams and to understand, translate and integrate marketplace data and forecasting tools into actionable insights to drive decision-making is required. Demonstrated success in creative problem solving and team partnership is required. Excellent verbal and written presentation skills are required. Strong project management skills are required. This position will be based in Raritan, NJ and requires up to 25% travel (e.g. Medical and professional meetings and market research).
